                                                             Players

HONOR THE GAME” of lacrosse. Display good sportsmanship at all times on and off the field.

  • Respect yourself, your teammates, coaches, referees and opponents at all times, even when others do not.
  • Referees are not perfect, nobody is, and the do the best they can.
  • Give 100% effort at each practice and game.
  • Support and encourage your teammates. The best players make those around them better!
  • Know the rules of the game of lacrosse and abide by them.
  • Wear the required equipment at all games and practices, and keep your equipment well maintained, with your name attached
  • Don't be afraid to make mistakes; that is part of learning.
  • Be modest in victory and gracious in defeat.
  • Obscene language or gestures will not be tolerated.
  • Have Fun! 

 
                                                                Coaches

“HONOR THE GAME” of lacrosse. Teach and practice good sportsmanship at all games and practices, and always err on the side of safety first.

  • A coach is a role model, who must act with the highest moral character possible.
  • Coaches must reinforce the self-image of each player. 
  • Respect the game of lacrosse. Respect the officials.
  • Teach the rules of lacrosse. Abide by those rules in practices and games.
  • Establish objectives for the team and players and inform them of team and individual goals.
  • Emphasize the FUN of the game and the team, putting forth effort at all times, not wins and losses. 
  • Be modest in victory and gracious in defeat.
  • Obscene language or gestures will not be tolerated.
  • Do not ever physically engage any player , official, coach  or spectator  in a threatening or retaliatory manner
  • One voice from the coaching sideline

 

                                                       

                                                   Parents

  •  Learn the rules of the game of lacrosse. Check out US Lacrosse Website
  •  Respect the game of lacrosse. 
  • Respect the officials. 
  • Respect the coaches, who give their time for the benefit of the children.
  • Do not coach your child from the sideline. They can't hear you. Let players play and coaches coach, and support both positively.
  • Emphasize the FUN of the game and the team, putting forth effort at all times, not wins and losses.  
  • Do not EVER criticize players regardless of the circumstance.
  • Follow the "24 Hour Rule"; if you have a complaint resulting from a game (or practice) situation, speak with the coach on the following day.
  • Parents please remain with your child at practices or games through 6th grade or have another parent supervise them. As a last resort please let coach know if you have to step out. 
  • If there is a serious problem, notify the NRLAX officials.
  • Do not ever physically engage officials, parents, players in a threatening or retaliatory manner
  • Be prompt for pickups and drop offs, all our coaches are volunteering their time, please respect that.

                                                            All

  • Any conduct, including abusive language and/ or gestures, hitting, racially insensitive remarks, damage to property or belongings, or any other conduct that reflects poorly on yourself or NRLAX is deemed to be unacceptable and will not be tolerated. This rule applies to all players, parents, coaches, siblings and guests at all times when in or around games or practices as a member of NRLAX.
  • Players are and families represent New Rochelle in a positive manner. We are the best fans.
  • Players are expected to make New Rochelle lacrosse the number one priority when it comes to games when they reach the middle school level. Games take precedence over another sports practice.
  • During a tournament or game when you are away, you represent our communities and NRYL. Any conduct such as destruction of property, or illegal consumption of drugs or alcohol, or any other such activity will not be tolerated.

ANY SUSPENSION OR EXPULSION BASED ON VIOLATIONS OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT WILL NOT BE ACCOMPANIED BY A TUITION REFUND
