Dear NRLAX  Family,

Please read all as this includes some important information.

We are psyched as the NRLAX Season is 1 week away. We open up for all teams on Saturday March 29 at Fosina Field in New Rochelle. Normally grades 7 and 8 do not practice on Saturdays but this day they will.

On Monday March 31st at Fosina Field, teams will practice as follows:
6pm-7pm:  Boys & Girls Mites AND Boys & Girls 3/4th grade
7pm-8pm: Boys & Girls 5/6th grade
8pm-9pm: Boys & Girls 7/8th grade

Tuesday April 1st: Normal Practice Schedules will resume at New Rochelle High School

FYI - Black out dates do to vacations/ holidays/school events

April 15 - 18 - Holiday Break - coaches may schedule off site practice. Wall ball etc

May 12 school event - may have away games

May  24, 25 and 26 - Enjoy Memorial Day with Family

Q: What do I need on opening day??

Intro - sneakers and dress for the weather - bring a friend and get them involved. 

Girls grades 1 - 8 - Sneakers/cleats - Lax goggles/eyewear, stick and a mouth piece - Enjoy lax it is the only time girls will be cheaper than the boys. A lax bag makes life easier. 

Boys  grades 1 - 8 - Helmet, Shoulder pads, elbow pads, lacrosse gloves, sneaker/cleats, mouthpiece and protective cup highly recommended. A lax bag makes life easier. 

Q: Where do I get this stuff? 

By Car - Dicks, Blue Line West in Harrison, Sports Attic in Yorktown sells used equipment and Lax unlimited in Bronxville

Online - Amazon, Lacrosse Monkey, Lacrosse Unlimited, Lacrosse Fanatic.

Q: How can I be ready for the season?

A ball, a stick and a wall is the key to getting better. I grew up going to the tunnels at Memorial/Myrtle Park in Larchmont. (If you miss the ball it doesn't go far).

Q: What else should I keep in my bag?

Extra mouthpieces - they disappear like socks - buy a bunch of cheap ones on amazon. 

Q: Are there summer camps for lacrosse? 

Day camps - Westchester Predators, Team 91 Tristate, R2 girls  I think, Compass lacrosse - girls. Nike Lacrosse Camp @ Pace in Pleasantville

Sleep away - We have had success with X10. There is one in the adirondacks for boys and girls and around the country. You will see them in your lax magazine too. 

Q: Are there club teams?
 
Yes.  Many in the area - Tryouts are in June and July for next fall and winter. We will share them when we get info.
